Deja Vu

Howard Kurtz writes:
It's the dream of every insurgent candidate to confound the experts, catch fire at the right moment, wow the world by winning the New Hampshire primary and making the cover of Time and Newsweek.
And now it's Howard Dean's turn. But this pattern is surely familiar to Democrats. It's happened in most of our recent presidential elections starting with Jimmy Carter. And it's been a disaster, giving us Jimmy, Walter Mondale (Jimmy's VP), Governor "Snoopy" Dukakis, Bill and Hillary, and then Al Gore (another VP). Is this really the best way to choose a nominee?
