Mexico and ten other foreign countries are suing the State of Georgia to block enforcement of its new illegal immigration law. Actually, these countries aren't plaintiffs, since, I suspect, they lack standing, but they have filed Amicus Curiae, "friend of the court," briefs in support of civil liberties groups.

This kind of lawsuit suggests a desire for the United States to provide its own Constitution to everyone on earth as though they were U.S. citizens. This reminds me of the futility and waste of homeowners with air conditioning opening all their doors and windows in an effort to make the outdoors more comfortable, especially at a time when we're being lectured for using more than our share of energy resources.
