Oh, to have E. B. White again!

A little pig named Cinders owned by Andrew and Debbie Keeble of Thirsk in Britain has mysophobia, a fear of dirt and would not join her brothers and sisters in the mud, until they fitted her with a pair of tiny rubber boots, i.e. Wellingtons. No word of any spelling spiders or talking rats, however. The basic story is there, though. Could a children's book be far behind?
