The name of the ranch leased by Perry's father. Am I the only one wondering how Perry was raised in poverty, yet his father was able to rent a 40,000 acres ranch? I don't care what it was called. Prior to the civil rights movement "the N-word" was in common usage even among people who didn't know what it meant or mean any offense by it. Black-eyed Susans the wild flower, were called N----- Heads, because when they lose their petals the seed head reminded people of look of those with ancestry from Sub-Saharan Africa. The name is now politically incorrect and is no longer used. The WaPo story was a hit piece against Rick Perry and has hurt the news paper's reputation more than Mr. Perry's. One of the first things I heard about Perry was his story of a poor east Texas childhood.
