The Brink
Peter Wehner:
The budget that Representative Paul Ryan will unveil tomorrow will be unprecedented in its scope, its reach, and its structural reforms. He, along with his House colleagues, will have passed the test for political courage. Rather than avoiding entitlements, House Republicans take them on directly–including the main cause of our fiscal crisis, Medicare. All told, Ryan will propose cuts greater than $4 trillion from federal spending over the next decade.Indeed.
Now comes a civic test of sorts. What will be the American public’s reaction to the plan that Ryan presents? Will they rally behind it, or rebel against it?
I'm dreading the wrong answer. I'm dreading that the GOP in the House will screw this up and get rolled by the Dems.
More here.

Is it just me, or is the Obama logo getting smaller? The ad itself is the least enthusiastic start to a campaign I've ever seen. It heaves a big sigh, as supporters of Obama realize that they're going to have try to push this boulder back up the hill. And read the comments at the link. You could make an ad around each of them, regardless of who the GOP candidate is.
The budget battle is nearing a climax. Things to watch.
Some lawmakers have told The Hill they expect the government to shut down on Saturday.
